VISIT TO MAFARA FALLS

Have you ever wondered at the scope and splendor of nature's unalterable giants and breath taking landscapes? Have you ever felt the cool caress of a natural oxygenated fresh air oozing from a virgin picnic site in a less visited and populated site? Have you ever tripped, half- ecstatic with weary and cheers, onto the summit of a fall? Have you ever been at the sight of a large body of water flowing over a rock to form a pool and beautiful scenery?
This is the eminent narrative relished in the stories below of adventurous young people made up of friends, family and associates who appreciates nature and tourism.
Mafara is located in Bassa LGA, PLATEAU STATE, NIGERIA. It takes you away from the noisy trending culture of Jos hikes into a serene and peaceful environment with hospital natives and breath taking landscapes and it houses the least visited water fall on the Plateau unlike Kurra Falls Assop Falls that have been over visited and polluted. Madera is surrounded by very beautiful rock formations. Geologically, they fall within the Jos ring complex, where you will find younger Biotite Grannite rocks intruding the older Granites Gneisses and Basaltic rocks.
For some it was the first fall they had ever visited. Emotionally we were dragged in three ways. We could not harmonize fear, reverence and dislike. Many of us wish to travel with child's view on the world. To be filled with inquisitiveness, to see the world around us without prejudice, and to feel as if we are experiencing everything for the first time. No one ever said hiking was meant to be easy but this adventure would remain the toughest for some, which they greeted with excitement.
The convener and initiator Mr. Francis Choji Pam, a veteran scouter and hiker, while the event publicist Mr. Luca Atukpa-Elayo all organized this maiden event to the best of their ability which in turn saw them receiving over 100 collaborations and endorsements from groups and organizations and it also made the organizers organically generate a reach to 24,000 people on Facebook in 4weeks.
Activities at Mafara included walking, swimming, sightseeing, games, dance, climbing and many others and members of this event were also divided into platoons so as to create familiarity and  unity amongst members since it was a social hike opened to everyone of different beliefs. Collaborations were received from various categories of experts namely: Photographers and Videographers, Bloggers and Social Media Influencers, Earth scientist such as Geologists, Geographers, Botanists, Zoologist and Disc jockeys. In which these experts enriched the hike with their knowledge and services at no cost all in the spirit of Social entrepreneurship.
It was deniably one of Mother Nature's best kept secret; beseeching emotional responses in you that you didn't know you could beseech.
